Software engineer Tabby Grant was renting a three-bedroom maisonette in Wapping with two friends when she discovered she could actually afford to buy in London with Shared Ownership. She purchased a 25% share of a two-bedroom apartment, overlooking the communal gardens.

“Obviously I loved the apartment and the development as a whole, but the main draw for me was how central the location was. I thought I was central in Wapping but no way – here, I can jump on a bus and be in Covent Garden in 10 minutes. I’m a huge musical theatre fan and the joy of living so centrally is that you can get those last-minute tickets for amazing value. I can buy my tickets 30 minutes before the show starts, and still arrive with time to spare!”

"There’s lots of space and I love relaxing on my balcony. The biggest surprise for me was the incredible roof garden as when I viewed and reserved the apartment, it hadn’t been built yet. I didn’t realise that it would be so amazing – it has 360-degree views across London and you can see every London tourist attraction, from Canary Wharf, round to Big Ben and the London Eye and then towards the Battersea towers. I tend to go up there the most when I have friends over.”

Every time I go into Central London I’m shocked at just how close I am. I enjoy cycling, and it takes me about 10 minutes to cycle to Victoria which is incredible!”
